LEGO x Star Wars
Flying With The Fetts
LEGO is not just for kids, a large percentage of their products are targetted at AFOL’s (Adult Followers of LEGO) and this campaign aimed to appeal to hardcore Star Wars x LEGO fans.
The brief was to promote Jango and Boba Fett’s Firespray Starship LEGO set and create a campaign that would live on LEGO’s owned social channels and at events like Comicon.
In the Star Wars universe, Boba Fett is a mercenary bounty hunter - the most revered in the galaxy. His father is Jango Fett, which Boba was cloned from. Referencing their back story, we created a tongue in cheek parody of an 80’s family sitcom about their adventures through the galaxy, using their ship as the family home. We played on typical father/son moments and introduced the ship and its features as characters in the sitcom.

Storyboards
Some of examples of my conceptual storyboards for the animated film.
Visual Identity
I worked with the OLA design team to create a visual identity for the fictional series, inspired by nostalgic 80’s TV title design.

Limited Edition Poster
To accompany the social content, we worked with illustrator Joe Hogan to develop a limited edition poster that would be given away at events like Comicon. We based the design on an old VHS tape as a nod to the original Star Wars films that ties in with the nostalgic feel of the campaign.

My poster sketch progression to brief the illustrator.
Comicon
Photo Booth
Concept for a photo booth at Comicon. The artwork for the poster was split into layers to create a 3D Photo Booth that invited visitors to immerse themselves into the spoof sitcom.

Bumper
Sticker Pack
Some of my sketches for a bumper sticker pack idea. These would be given away at Comicon and with every order of the LEGO Firespray set.
